Description of Functionality

With a FISCON Plus Bluetooth handsfree, the Volkswagen infotainment system with touchscreen allows for these functions:

Vehicle Integration
	Operation from the Touchscreen of the Radio or Navigation System.
	Complete integration into the Radio/Navigation System with comparable Logic and Design.
	Displays Data on the MFA-Screen.
	Menu-driven operation.
	Establish, accept and end calls. Mute, regulate volume and numerous setup functions. Everything is operable with the existing buttons in the vehicle.
	Voice output through the vehicle speakers. With distinguished sound quality, no installation of additional speakers is necessary.
	Operation via the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel (where available).
	Usage of the ring-tone of the cellphone*1 on the vehicle speakers.
	Automatic usage of the languages English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese. A lot of other languages are partially supported.
	All original functions of the vehicle remain unaffected.
	Optional microphone available exactly matching to the OEM position in the dome light of many cars. Enables completely invisible installation.
	Uses the full size if the MFA screen. The small MFA (more wide than high) is not able to display the data.
	The Jump-Mode at the MFA-Display allows to scroll through the initial letters (A->B->C) to find phonebook records faster.

Phone Functions
	Synchronisation of the phonebook with names and numbers.*1
	Access to call lists, including dialed and missed connections.*1
	Shows incomming calls automatically with name synchronisation of the phonebook*1. Option to accept or decline a Call.
	Up to 5 cellphones can be paired.
	Digital sound processor with echo and noise depression.
	Adjustable microphone amplification (to 30db) to optimize voice quality.
	Voice dialling in combination with RNS-510 firmware from 2660 and our add-on product.
	Voice dialling alternatively by using the integrated phone functionality. Activation with the voice button on the steering wheel.*1
	Alphabetic search of phonebook records.
	Display of the phone provider and signal strength.*1
	Mailbox recallable from touchscreen.
	Usage of menu guided message services with DTMF tones. Menu for entering numeric digits on the MFA screen.

Infotainment
	Shows digital data of the car like speed, boost pressure*2, fuel quantity, oil temperature, battery voltage, water temperature.*3
	Read SMS and reply with pre-defined texts (if supported by the cellphone).
	A2DP audiostream via Bluetooth, for playing music stored in the cellphone on the vehicle sound system.*1
	AVRCP control of the music on the cellphone, using the buttons of the vehicle.*2
	Brilliant A2DP music quality in stereo.*4

Hardware, Installation, Maintenance
	Real Plug&Play. No coding of the vehicle required until modelyear 2010 with red MFA screen. Later cars require coding.
	Plug&Play Adapter included.
	Uncomplicated installation. No cutting of wires necessary.
	Removes easily with no damage to the vehicle.
	Option for software updates.
	Standby power consumption is under 0,1mA (<1,2) Watt at 12V.
	ODB2 diagnostic with e.g. VCDS or VAS possible. It shows informations like software levels and product version. If required a factory reset can be done.
	The installation does not cause any records in the error-log of the car.

Car Compatibility

The integration into the navigation system is independent from the vehicle and is also feasible in vehicles where the navigation system is not integrated from factory. The display in the MFA-screen and the operation with the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel or wiper lever are at present working in the following cars regardless of the radio or navigation system.

The usage of the dot-matrix MFA -screen requires a format like shown on the pictures below. The color can be red or white. Touareg requires a wide screen display as shown below.

Is my MFA-Display supported?

We recommend the optional microphone for invisible installation into the dome light. It can be used if the car does not has voice control, e.g. for navigation. With voice control the slot for the microphone in the dome light is already occupied. At a Volkswagen T5 it is required to verify if the dome light indeed has a slot for the microphone. This can be recognised by a grid in the light front panel. This microphone does not match to the Touareg (7L). Please choose in our shop which microphone has to be in the package.

Owners of a partial supported vehicle with RNS-510 and RCD-510 infotainment system can use the complete range of functions on the touchscreen. However, the MFA-screen and the steering wheel buttons may not support phone functionality.
